Join JUFJ for Lag B’Omer on May 15th from 7:00 PM-8:30 PM as we enjoy a bonfire and phonebank to mobilize our community around DC Council’s budget process. This event combines some of our favorite things: Jewish ritual, progressive organizing, being together as a community, and FIRE (in a safe and controlled environment!) Investing in safe communities by making sure everyone has a roof over the head and so much more is at stake. Through collective action, we have the power to shape how our tax dollars are spent to be more in line with our values. That’s why we’ll be asking our friends and other JUFJers to advocate for funding for key programs as the Council shapes next year’s local budget. Campfire-appropriate snacks will be provided. Location will be sent out ahead of the event.
