Please join us every Monday evening at 8:00 pm (local time), from your home. Lights out for one minute.
Like many, we watched Friday in horror as the US was further degraded by homegrown injustice. This time the president of Ukraine was the victim.
In days gone by, when there was something wrong in the country, people would hang their flag upside down. Well, something is very wrong in the country right now. And when something major is wrong, it is our duty to say so, to rise up in dissent, to protest peacefully.
Who you voted for isn’t the issue. Injustice is.
I am the proud daughter, niece and sister of (retired) federal workers. I am friend and acquaintance of many more. One of my uncles retired after working happily and tirelessly for decades at USAID. Six degrees of separation? Please.
We have all been wronged.
Today, we are all Ukrainian. Today, we are all federal employees. Today we are all USAID workers. We are all on the front lines. No one is safe until we are all safe.
